We are thrilled to share some exciting news from this weekend's British National Cyclo-cross Championships at Cyclopark. Two of our own, who have previously raced at The Gralloch, have clinched the elite national titles!
In the Elite Women's race, Xan Crees of Spectra Racing p/b DAS delivered a remarkable performance, overcoming fierce competition to secure her first national cyclo-cross title. The 2023 British Gravel Champion showed grit and determination to fight back throughout the race as she reeled in Cat Ferguson. From there she fought hard to retain a narrow margin all the way to the finish line.
On the men's side, Cameron Mason of Seven Racing achieved a significant milestone by claiming his third consecutive national title. Following and early-battle with fellow Gralloch racer Thomas Mein (Hope Factory Racing), who sadly fell and damaged his bike meaning he could not complete the race. Mason then further asserted his dominance on the course and pulled away to claim a dominant victory.
We're extremely proud of Cameron and Xan. Two riders that have been so supportive of Red On Sports events and become a regular sighting on the start line of The Gralloch and British Gravel Championships. We've gotten to know them both as passionate racers and great people. Enjoy the red, white and blue stripes!
Furthermore, we extend our congratulations to all Gralloch participants who competed in various age group categories at the National Cyclo-cross Championships. Some truly impressive performances that you should all be very proud of.It's noteworthy that 46% of Gralloch racers also participate in cyclo-cross events, underscoring the strong connection between gravel and the cyclo-cross discipline.
Let's celebrate these successes and continue to support each other in our cycling endeavors. We look forward to witnessing more remarkable achievements from our community in the future.
